Kallax is a vinyl DJ collection management app built for DJs who value privacy and local-first data storage. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Crash Reports and Performance Data

We use Sentry, a third-party crash reporting service, to help us identify and fix bugs. This service automatically collects:

Device identifiers (to group crashes by device type)
Crash logs (stack traces and error messages when the app crashes)
Performance diagnostics (app speed, memory usage, response times)

Purpose: To monitor app stability, diagnose bugs, and improve performance.

Data sharing: This data is shared with Sentry (sentry.io), our crash reporting provider.

Retention: Data is automatically deleted after 90 days.

User control: This data collection is required for app functionality and cannot be disabled.

Encryption: All data transmitted to Sentry is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Kallax does not collect, store, or share:

Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
Location data
User-generated content from your collection
Financial information
Photos, videos, or audio files
Contacts or calendar data
Browsing history
Messages or communications

How Your Collection Data Works

Your Discogs collection and BPM data are stored locally on your device using SQLite. We do not transmit this data to our servers. You can export your data as a backup file at any time.

When you sync with Discogs, you authenticate directly with Discogs using their API. We receive only the collection metadata you choose to sync. We do not store your Discogs credentials.

When you use auto-BPM detection, we query the GetSongBPM API (getsongbpm.com) with track metadata (artist/title). This is a one-time lookup; we do not store or share your listening habits.

Your Rights

Data Deletion

Since we store all collection data locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by:

Clearing your collection within the app
Uninstalling the app

Crash report data sent to Sentry is automatically deleted after 90 days. To request immediate deletion, contact us at [email protected].

Data Export

You can export your collection data at any time using the backup feature in the app. This creates a local file you control.

Children's Privacy

Kallax is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as we add features or comply with legal requirements. We will notify users of material changes via app updates or email (if we add account functionality in the future).
